Manchester United Draws Barcelona In Europa League
Manchester United will face Barcelona in their Europa League play-off in February, while Italian side Juventus will take on Coupe de France holders Nantes.
Barcelona dropped into the Europa League after finishing third in their UEFA Champions League group, while Man Utd lost out on top spot to Real Sociedad.
The two sides have faced each other 13 times in European competition, with Manchester United winning only three of these meetings. Barcelona have won each of the last four meetings, including two UEFA Champions League finals. They were 2-0 winners at the Stadio Olimpico in May 2009, and beat Manchester United 3-1 at Wembley in 2011.
Juventus Vs Nantes
Italian Serie A side Juventus will take on Coupe de France holders Nantes in the Europa League play-off in February.
Juventus were knocked out of the UEFA Champions League after sustaining five losses in six games, including defeats against Group H winners Benfica and another French team PSG.
Nantes, who are currently sitting in 16th in Ligue 1, finished second behind Freiburg in Group G, but ahead of Qarabag and Olympiacos.
Six-time winners of the Europa League, Sevilla, will face PSV Eindhove, while Ajax will take on Bundesliga side Union Berlin.
Elsewhere, Jose Mourinho’s Roma will face RB Salzburg.
Arsenal’s automatic progression to the last 16 of this season’s Europa League means they will have to wait for the conclusion of the play-off round, before learning who they will face next in the competition.
The first legs of the last play-off round will be played on February 16, 2023, before the return legs a week later.
