Institute trains Stakeholders on conflict resolution

The Nigeria Institute of International Affairs has begun training stakeholders on conflict resolution, different areas of foreign policy and negotiating skills.

The Director-General of the Institute, Processor Eghosa Osaghae noted that NIIA is the foremost foreign policy think tank in the country

According to Professor Osaghae, diplomacy is key to settling difficult matters between nations.

Participants in the training include senior officers from the Nigerian police, Air force, Immigration, Defence Ministry, Road safety and the Media among others.

Nigeria’s former Ambassador to Ethiopia, Mr Olusegun Akinsanya spoke on diplomacy and negotiating skills in dealing with current world challenges.

One of the participants, an Assistant Commissioner of Police, Elvis Amaheoku charged Nigerian diplomats to regularly sharpen their negotiating skills as this would project the image of the country better and attract foreign investors.
