Manchester United came from two goals down to beat Aston Villa 3-2 in a thrilling Premier League match at Old Trafford, courtesy of an 82nd minute strike by Rasmus Hojlund to secure all three (3) points.
The hosts started with Hojlund in attack, with Alejandro Garnacho and Marcus Rashford supporting on the flanks. For the visitors, Ollie Watkins featured up-front while Jacob Ramsey and Leon Bailey were on the wings.
First-half goals from John McGinn and Leander Dendoncker seemed to put an in-form Aston Villa in full control as Manchester United could not contain the visitors in the first half.
In the second half, Manchester United were determined to fight its way back into the match and were rewarded in spectacular fashion.
Two goals from Garnacho changed the mood For Manchester United, with the first coming in the 59th minute and the second in the 71st to send the fans at Old Trafford into a frenzy.
The hosts weren’t finished as more was to come.
In the 82nd minute, Hojlund then scored his first Premier League goal in his 15th appearance as Manchester United made a thrilling comeback against an in-form Aston Villa side to complete the Christmas miracle.
The Dane’s goal come in the first game since Sir Jim Ratcliffe purchased a 25% stake in Manchester United, which gives his INEOS company control of football operations at the club.
The match finished 3-2 in favour of Manchester United, leaving the Aston Villa fans stunned at Old Trafford.

Manchester United are now sixth in the Premier League table, while Aston Villa stay third, missing the chance to move level on points with leaders Liverpool.
Manchester United’s next game is at Nottingham Forest on Saturday, while Aston Villa are next in action on Saturday when they host Burnley.
