The Labour Party in Nigeria has felicitated with Nigerian workers on the occasion of the 2021 May Day celebration and assured Nigerians that Nigeria will rise again and realize the hopes and aspirations of its founding fathers despite the country’s challenges.

The National Chairman of Labour Party, Mr Julius Abure, who gave the assurance in a Press Statement made available to journalists, also raised concern on the plight of workers saying that “some State Governors and employers of Labour are yet to pay the minimum wage.”

He also called on the Government to confront the high rate of youth unemployment as the Party believes that the high rate of crime and criminality are bye products of unemployment, hunger and poverty.

Mr Abure, also said that “the Government must address the issues of economic growth and development by repositioning the economy for recovery.”

The Party renewed its call on the Government, especially The President and the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces to rise to the occasion and rescue Nigeria from imminent collapse.

“President Muhammadu Buhari must aggregate his ideas, rise beyond partisan and other primordial affinities and accept useful, innovative and ideas to save the country,” Mr Abure added.
