Microsoft, Semafor to empower journalists on AI-assisted news content
Microsoft is set to join forces with global news platform Semafor and various news outlets to empower journalists to harness the potential of generative AI for seamless content production.
Through the partnerships, Microsoft will aid organizations in pinpointing and fine-tuning procedures and policies for the responsible utilisation of artificial intelligence (AI) in both news gathering and business practices, as highlighted in their recent blog post.
Semafor is revolutionizing news delivery with the launch of a breaking news feed called “Signals,” which empowers journalists by integrating tools from OpenAI and Microsoft, enabling them to provide readers with unparalleled analysis and insightful perspectives on breaking news stories.
The partnership, with undisclosed financial terms, comes at a pivotal moment for Microsoft and OpenAI, creators of ChatGPT. They are both facing a legal challenge initiated by the New York Times alleging unauthorized utilization of the Times’ published content for training artificial intelligence technologies.
