The Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI has destroyed a terrorist logistics hub in a precision airstrike at Jilli, near Gubio Local Government Area of Borno State, the military said on Sunday.

The operation, carried out on April 11, followed intelligence reports of increased terrorist movement along the Bindul–Jilli axis, a known corridor for Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) fighters and their collaborators.

According to a statement by Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, Media Information Officer for the Joint Task Force North East, the strike was part of a coordinated response to recent attacks linked to the same network.

An improvised explosive device killed eight soldiers along the Bindul–Damasak road in January 2026. On April 9, Ngamdu and Benisheik also recorded coordinated attacks.

Surveillance missions on the day of the strike spotted multiple motorcycles and gun trucks converging on Jilli. Human intelligence sources confirmed the presence of terrorists and logistics handlers. Following target validation, precision strikes were authorised.

After the post-strike assessment, the military confirmed the destruction of the enclave, with scores of terrorists neutralised and several vehicles destroyed. Survivors were seen fleeing in different directions.

In a related development, a suspected terrorist logistics courier, identified as Turja Bulu, was arrested on April 12 in Ngamdu Town. He reportedly confessed to participating in the April 9 attack on a military location in Benisheik and disclosed that he had been dispatched from Jilli to supply food to other terrorist cells in the Magumeri–Gubio area.

The military reiterated that the use of motorcycles remains banned across the North East theatre, citing their continued use by terrorists for movement and logistics.

Operation HADIN KAI assured the residents of the North East that we would continue operations until we dismantle all terrorist enclaves and fully restore peace.
