Minister directs unity Colleges to beef up security

The Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu has directed Principals of Unity Colleges across the country to liaise with security Agencies within their jurisdictions in order to forestall any security breach in the schools.

The Minister also said  it ordered the immediate closure of one of its colleges, the Federal Government College Kwali, due to security breach on Sheda and Lambata Villages, suburbs of Kwali Area Council which also threatened FGC Kwali.

According to the Minister, timely intervention of security Agencies saved the situation in Kwali Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory.

Adamu who made these known in a statement issues and signed by Ben Bem Goong in Abuja, also directed that arrangements should be made for final year students of the schools to conclude their NECO examinations.

He further added that the directives were given in the early hours of Monday  said the closure became necessary following the security threats.
