Minister Lauds Women’s Participation in Nigeria’s By-Election

The Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajiya Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, has described the participation of women in the just-concluded Munya Local Government by-election in Niger State as a model of transparency, inclusiveness and peace.

Speaking after serving alongside Senator Sani Musa as an APC supervisor, the minister said the impressive turnout of women during the by-election emphasised women’s resilience and determination, reaffirming their critical role in Nigeria’s democratic process.

“It was especially inspiring to see so many women come out in full force, eager to cast their votes and be part of shaping our future. 

“This by-election is a clear example of the Renewed Hope Agenda we are pushing a Nigeria, where women’s voices are not just heard but celebrated in every aspect of our national life, especially in politics.

“I’m so proud of the way this election was conducted; free, fair and peaceful, a true reflection of the leadership of H.E. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and H.E. Governor Mohammed Umar Bago,” she declared.

She commended the commitment of both leaders, noting that their dedication to transparent and inclusive elections demonstrates a clear focus on strengthening Nigeria’s democracy.

“Their commitment to ensuring transparent and inclusive elections speaks volumes about their dedication to a stronger Nigeria.

“Together, we are building a nation that empowers every citizen to participate, grow, and thrive. The journey continues, and I am proud to be part of it,” the minister affirmed.
