The Minister of State for Defence, Dr Bello Mohammed Matawalle, has condemned the deadly night attack on Government Girls Comprehensive Senior Secondary School in Maga, Kebbi State, ordering urgent and coordinated action to secure the release of the abducted students.
The incident occurred in the Zuru Emirate of Danko or Wasagu Local Government Area and resulted in the killing of the school’s Vice Principal, Malam Hassan Yakubu Makuku, and the abduction of students.
The Minister described the attack as “unacceptable” and directed security agencies to act in concert under the instruction of President Bola Tinubu.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry, the Minister stressed that the government has ordered immediate security operations to locate and safely recover the abducted students.
He called on residents of the affected communities to remain calm while the government and security agencies address the situation.
He also extended condolences to the family of the late Vice Principal and all families affected by the attack, praying for mercy and comfort.
The Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to bringing the perpetrators to justice and strengthening security around schools in vulnerable communities across the country.
