Nasarawa: Governor Sule Signs 2024 Budget into Law

Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule has signed the 2024 budget of over 199 billion Naira in to law, at the Government House, Lafia, the State capital.

 

The Governor performed the task in the presence of the State Deputy Governor Dr Emmanuel Akabe, Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau, Principal Officers and Members of the State Assembly.

 

Also in attendance during the budget signing was the State Chief Judge, Justice Aisha Bashir and the Emir of Lafia Justice Sidi Bage Muhammad (Rtd) as well as the State Chairman of APC Alh. Aliyu Bello among other stakeholders.

 

While signing the 2024 budget tagged ‘budget of renewed commitment’, which stands at an estimated sum of over 199 billion Naira, Governor Sule appreciated the Speaker and members of the assembly for ensuring due diligence in the execution of their duties.

He pledged to continue to implement the budget within the economic threshold, while affirming that the government will adhere strictly to the budget provision and urged the members of the state assembly to be committed to carrying out their oversight function.

 

He noted that it helps in the effort to address identified loopholes.

 

Speaker of the State Assembly, Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau reiterated the commitment of the state legislative arm to support the state government under Governor Abdullahi Sule to pursue the people-oriented programs of his administration.

 

Speaker Jatau emphasised that the budget has passed through all the necessary legislative procedures.

 

Meanwhile, State Commissioner of Finance, Munirah Abdullahi gave credit to the budget committee among others that have played a greater role that led to the successful passage of the budget by the state assembly.
