The Nasarawa State chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has lauded aspirants of the party in the state for accepting the outcomes of the recently held primary elections in good faith.

State PDP Chairman, Mr. Francis Orogu, gave the commendation while addressing journalists after meeting with all the candidates of the party in the state of Lafia.

According to the PDP Chairman, the spirit of sportsmanship demonstrated by members of the party who contested for various offices ahead of the 2023 general elections was second to none.

Orogu explained that this is the first time in the state that primaries of the party were held rancor free and all participants accepted the results irrespective of whether they won or lose.

“Over 100 persons contested for various positions at the primaries in the state and there is no single petition or litigation at the end of the exercise.

“The primaries were free, fair, credible, and acceptable to the winners and those who could not emerge victorious at this time.

“Members accepted the results and agreed to work for the victory of the winners because the party did not change the names of delegates like other parties and the delegates were allowed to vote for their preferred candidates,” the Chairman added.

On the chances of the party reclaiming Nasarawa State in 2023, Orogu expressed optimism that the party is now United and focused and the people are with them.

He said that students who are at home for more than five months due to the strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), their parents are ready to vote the All Progressives Congress (APC) out.

The unsecured poor masses whose economic conditions are getting worse by the day and farmers who can no longer go to farms due to la ack of the vision and capacity of the ruling party to provide good governance are with PDP.

The PDP Chairman also commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for their performance in the recent Osun Governorship election and also commended the electorates for rejecting inducement and voting for their choice.

He, therefore, congratulated the Governor elect and wished him well in his tenure.
