Nasarawa State Police Command has foiled the kidnap of the Nasarawa South PDP Zonal Chairman Umar Nasiru Black on 20/11/2021.
This was according to a statement issued to a journalist in Lafia, by the Police Public Relation Officer Ranmah Nansel.
According to him, “on 20/11/2021 at about 2010hrs, a distress call was received that, six unidentified gunmen invaded the residence of one Umar Nasiru Black located at Bukan kwaito area of Lafia and attempted to kidnap him.
“Upon receipt of the information, the Commissioner of Police, CP Adesina Soyemi immediately mobilized Police patrol teams stationed at the area to the scene; the kidnap was foiled due to prompt intervention of the Police and members of the community.
And, In a bid to escape, the hoodlums hit the said Umar Nasiru Black with a stick on his forehead and shot one of his neighbors on the right leg before they narrowly escaped into the nearby bushes”, he said
He however said that the victims were rushed to the hospital for medical treatment and are in stable condition.
Adding that efforts are ongoing to arrest the fleeing suspects and Investigation is ongoing.
