The Nasarawa south Senator-elect, Mohammed Ogoshi-Onawo, has promised to work with journalists for the overall development of the state and the country at large.
Onawo stated this in Doma Local Government Area (LGA) when he played host to the officials and members of the Correspondents’ Chapel of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ).
Onawo also promised to sponsor quality bills that would help the incoming administration to address the security and economic challenges confronting the country.
While urging members of the press to report activities objectively and professionally, he also promised to lobby and attract more federal government presence to Nasarawa State.
Onawa attributed his victory to the grace of God and the reward by his people for the quality representation he offered to them for 16 years.
“I have served my people for eight years in the House of Assembly and eight years in the House of Representatives and if I did not do well they would not have voted for me again.
“I have impacted the lives of my people in the areas of education, health, youths and women empowerment, provision of boreholes and facilitated empowerment for many qualified youths with federal and state governments.
“So, I thank God for giving me another opportunity and I promised not to disappoint him and my people” Onawo noted.
Meanwhile, the Vice Chairman of the Correspondents’ Chapel, Hajiya Amina Mohammed of Voice of Nigeria (VON) congratulated the Senator-elect on his victory and promised to give his activities and achievements adequate coverage.
