The Nasarawa State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Lucky Yargwa, has won the Achievers’ Award for “Youth-Friendly and Supportive Personality of the Year.”
The Nasarawa State Coordinator of Face of Democracy, Samuel Alkali, who presented the award said it was in appreciation for the efforts of the Honourable Commissioner towards the activities of the body, youth advocacy, and related programs across the State.
He explained that part of the aim of the Organisation is to encourage women’s participation in politics, gender equality, and youth advocacy, which was what gave rise to its program in August 2022, with a focus on Women’s Participation in Politics.
The Commissioner was represented by the SSA to Governor Abdullahi Sule on Youth Development, Shuaibu Sani. Responding, Commissioner Yargwa thanked the leadership of the organisation for finding him worthy of recognition.
He commended the Group for identifying with the Ministry and its staff, describing the award as a booster to do more in meeting up with its mandate of the establishment. Yargwa revealed that the Management and Staff of the Ministry have been working as a team which is the secret behind its success story.
The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Isah Eyah, noted that the Nasarawa State Face of Democracy is on a noble cause to close the gaps in political participation and further draw the Government’s attention to demonstrating the place of women and young persons in governance.
Eyah urged the Group to sustain its advocacy for a better society. He affirmed that the Ministry would continue to accord activities that pertain to the youth all the deserved attention for better productivity. The event also had in attendance, line Directors of the Ministry.
Part of the award ceremony was the presentation of the organisation’s medium-sized copy of the Magazine which also contains vital information about the Commissioner.
