Nasarawa State Urged Organisers of U-13 to be Vigilant Against Age Cheat

Nasarawa State Government has called on the organisers of the Maiden editor of the Under Thirteen Football Championship in the state to be vigilant against age cheating as the competition commences.
The Governor of Nasarawa State Abdullahi Sule made the call during the opening ceremony of the championship at the Federal University of Lafia Sports Complex.
Sule charged the Committee Members to be steadfast in ensuring that athletes, who are above the stipulated age, are not allowed to participate.
Represented by the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Lucky Yargwa commended Aliyu Bello Charity Foundation for organising the football tournament calling on other wealthy individuals in the state to join hands with the government in promoting sporting activities among the youth.
Speaking, the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Lafia, Professor Shehu Abdulrahman represented by Professor Samson Duga assured that the institution would continue to give out its facility for sporting events.
Also speaking, the Chairman of Nasarawa State Football Association, Alhaji Mohammed Alkali said he was impressed with the display of skills by the young lads.
The Maiden edition of the Under 13 Enter Primary School Boys Football Championship 2023 was organised by the Aliyu Bello Charity Foundation in collaboration with Nasarawa State Government, Ministries of Education, Local Government, Community Development and Chieftaincy Affairs as well as Youth and Sports Development.
In the opening match, Lafia under 13 Team played out a goalless draw with Keana under 13 Team.
