Nasarawa Traditional Council Leads Campaign on Environmental Sanitation.

The traditional council in Nasarawa state has taken the lead in the campaign to keep the environment clean in Nasarawa State, North-Central, Nigeria.

Commissioner of Environment and Natural Resources, Mr. Yakubu Kwanta stated this after monitoring the first monthly sanitation of the year in Lafia the state capital.

“It’s clear that we are winning the war in line with the mandate of the present administration under the leadership of Gov Abdullahi Sule to keep the environment clean, habitable, and safe for citizens of Nasarwa state.”

“I am very happy today because the traditional council has taken the lead in the campaign to keep the environment clean.”

“Just this morning, His Royal Highness, the chairman Nasarawa state traditional rulers Justice Sidi Bage (Rtd) personally went round to lend his voice to this campaign,” the Commissioner noted.

This year is not going to be business as usual, this is the first sanitation in 2024, we have already built robust synergy with traditional and local government councils to see that there’s total compliance.”

“I’m very happy with what I saw today because there’s substantial compliance in the state capital, and we will continue with the campaign until the aim is achieved,” he added.

Kwanta further encourages the residents to come out and keep their surroundings clean and has renewed commitment to “Operation Pick Nylon by Your Side and Operation Keep Nasarawa Clean.”
