A delegation of youth stakeholders is seeking the zoning of the Nasarawa State governorship position to the Nasarawa West Senatorial District.

The group, led by the state’s Commissioner for Health, Dr. Gaza Gwamna, paid a courtesy visit to Senator Abdullahi Adamu, Turakin Keffi, and the Emir of Keffi.

The youths were drawn from across the five local government areas of Keffi, Karu, Kokona, Nasarawa, and Toto.

Dr. Gwamma said the visit was aimed at expressing support and solidarity with the Senator over the ongoing advocacy.

He emphasized the need for unity among the youths, noting that “the issue of zoning transcends personal or party interest, but rather concerns overall political equity and inclusiveness in Nasarawa State.”

The delegation also paid a courtesy visit to the Emir of Keffi, His Royal Highness Dr. Chindo Yamusa III, at his palace.

Dr. Gwamna further appealed to the revered monarch to lend his royal influence and moral support in driving the call for the zoning of the governorship to Nasarawa West.

Responding, the Emir commended the youths for their peaceful approach and political awareness, encouraging them to remain united and continue advocating for fairness within the framework of peace, dialogue, and respect for constituted authorities.

Also speaking, Secretary of the Sub-Committee and Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Comrade Ja’afar Loko, reaffirmed the readiness of the youths to mobilize massive grassroots support across the state to ensure that the zoning agenda becomes a reality.

“We will continue to engage stakeholders, elders, traditional rulers, and political leaders to promote peace and unity while pursuing this noble course,” Comrade Loko said.

The visit was attended by critical youth stakeholders from across the 59 electoral wards in the zone, including state Commissioners, members of the House of Assembly, and Local Government Executive Chairmen.
