Nassarawa Governor flags-off construction of N349. 7m market

Nassarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule has flagged-off the construction of N349.7million neighbourhood market in Akwanga Local Government Area of the state as part of activities to mark his two years in office.

The governor said the market was to boost the socio-economic activities of the people of the area and for the overall development of the state.

He said that the construction of the market would also improve the standard of living of the people of the area and the state at large.

“The neighbourhood market will consist of 52 lock-up shops, 54 open market stores, 26 warehouses, administrative block, security post, public toilet, a restaurant among others.

“The upgrade of markets in the state is part of my administration’s commitment to enhancing socio-economic activities of the people for the overall development of the State” , he said.

Governor Sule further reiterated his administration’s commitment to continue to provide infrastructure development across the state.

He appreciated the people of the area and the state at large for supporting his administration to succeed.

Other projects
The governor has also flagged-off the construction of a 300 sitting capacity event center and remodelling of government lodge Akwanga.

The Principal partner, Canoni Associates firm and supervisor of the projects, Shehu Tukur, assured of quality jobs.

He said the projects would be completed at the end of the year.

Meanwhile, Chairman, Akwanga Local Government Area, Mr. Samuel Meshi, appreciated Governor Sule for his giant development strides across the state.

He called on the people of the area and the state at large to continue to give their maximum support to the governor to succeed in order to enjoy more dividends of democracy.

The Governor earlier paid homage to Chun Mada, Samson Gamu Yare,  at his palace in Akwanga to receive his royal blessings and prayers.
