Vice President Kashim Shettima is presiding over a meeting of Nigeria’s Economic Council.
The meeting, which started at 10:50 GMT, is taking place at the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Those attending the meeting include Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Atiku Bagudu, and Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Abubakar Kyari.
The governors of Kogi, Usman Ododo; Bauchi, Bala Mohammed; Ogun, Dapo Abiodun; Kwara, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq; Kaduna, Uba Sani; and Abia, Alex Oti.
Others include Gombe State Governor Inuwa Yahaya and those of Ekiti, Abiodun Oyebanji, and Kebbi, Nasir Idris, among others.
The Council statutorily meets every month to review the performance of the economy as well as consider measures that need to be taken in order to boost the economy.
The council also plays the role of advising the president on how to make life better for citizens.
