NDE Flags Off Agricultural Development Training In Ebonyi State

The National Directorate of Employment NDE has flagged off a-3 day Post Sustainable Agricultural Development Training Scheme (post-SADTS) for the year 2023 in Ebonyi State Southeast Nigeria.

The training is to ensure that Nigerian youths are self-employed and also to boost food security in the country.

The NDE Director General, Malam Abubakar Nuhu disclosed this while delivering his address at the Directorate State Office, in Abakaliki the State capital.

The Director General who was represented by the State Coordinator, Pastor Don Anaba said the training is using a model known as Knowledge, Attitude, Skill and Habit (KASH) in improving the model of post-SADTS in the State.

Today, we are gathered here to mark the flag off of KASH, Medela post-SADTS training for 50 graduated beneficiaries of SADTS in Ebonyi State. The occasion is remarkable because it is a demonstration of the commitment of the new administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to youth in employment generation, food security and wealth creation in the country” he said.

The State Coordinator urged the beneficiaries to make the best use of the opportunity to exit joblessness and become self-reliant.

He however expressed gratitude to the Governor of Ebonyi State, Francis Nwifuru for the congenial environment and continuous support to NDE.

Also, the Head of Department, Rural Employment Promotion of the NDE, Mr Ozibo Gabriel in his remarks encouraged the beneficiaries to take the training seriously for the next three days.

Mr Ozibo also advised the beneficiaries to form cooperative societies amongst themselves to access more funds that can help their business for mega growth.

One of the guest speakers who is also a beneficiary of NDE, Mr Ogbogu Cyril said “If you are committed to this training, it will positively change your life for the better, just like me”.

The Head of Department, Agricultural Economics Management and Extension of Ebonyi State University, Dr Onyabor Edwin advised the beneficiaries to see the training as a means of boosting food security in the country.

Dr Onyabor however advised that the campaign for Agricultural revolution through the NDE be carried to different localities so as to get the most target audience.

One of the 50 beneficiaries, Mr Onele Chukwuma expressed his gratitude to NDE as well as the Nigerian government.
