Super Eagles Midfielder Wilfred has come down hard to deny speculations that he faked his injury to avoid playing against Algeria next Tuesday.
Ndidi reportedly cupped an injury during training on Wednesday, ruling him out of the clash with the Desert Foxes.
While the announcement of his withdrawal was greeted with sadness by fans, a Nigerian journalist tweeted that Ndidi deliberately faked his injury.
“Sources on Ndidi injury: Super Eagles manager Jose Peseiro wants to play Wilfred Ndidi at centerback against Algeria,” he tweeted.
“Ndidi is upset about this. He wants to play in the midfield. Next thing, Ndidi has an undisclosed injury, out of the squad and returns to England.”

But in his reaction, the Leicester midfielder lampooned Folarin for not seeking clarification and instead engaged in spreading misinformation.
“How sure are you? Did you ask questions,” he replied to his tweet.
“Did you check your facts, No! you just decided to tweet… bravo you did yourself proud sir.”
The Nigerian International has been plagued by injury since February and is just returning to full football action after over six months out.
Ndidi has since returned to England, while his team mates are set to face Algeria’s Team B on Friday in Constantine.
