The new Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Major General Farouk Yahaya has paid his last respect to his predecessor, the late Lieutenant General, Ibrahim Attahiru who died in a plane crash last Friday along with 10 other senior military officers.
The Nigerian Army made this known via its official Twitter handle on Friday, May 28, 2021.
The COAS signed the condolence register at Theatre Commander of the Counter Insurgency military outfit in the North East code-named Operation HADIN KAI, headquarters in Maimalari Cantonment, Maiduguri, Borno State.
Major General Farouk Yahaya was appointed last Thursday by President Muhammadu Buhari as the 22nd Chief Of Army Staff and will assume office on Friday morning at the Army Headquarters in Abuja, the nation’s capital.
