New Commissioner For Insurance Assumes Office

The newly appointed Commissioner for Insurance Olusegun Ayo Omosehin assumed office on Friday.

Omosehin who resumed at the Commission’s Head office was received by senior members of staff, he had an interactive session with the entire Management and Staff of the Commission.

During his opening remark, he stated that the new executive Management would set a new tone for the Nigerian Insurance Sector.

His predecessor Olorundare Sunday Thomas who was in attendance to officially hand over to the new CFI thanked the staff for their support while in office.

In a positive light, the new CFI is optimistic of achieving a more vibrant Insurance.

Furthermore, the CFI noted that the Federal Government intends to achieve a $1Trillion economy by 2026. With this target in cognizance, the Insurance Sector is expected to play a critical role and contribute to its achievement.

President Bola Tinubu last month appointed Olusegun Ayo Omosehin as Commissioner for Insurance, Halima Kyari as Chairperson of the Commission, Olawoye Gam-Ikon as Deputy Commissioner (Technical Operations); Dr. Usman Jankara Jimada as Deputy Commissioner (Finance & Administration); Dr. Miriam Kene Kachikwu as Member; Adeniyi Olusegun Fabikun as Member and Umar Khalifa Mohammed as Member.
