New Commissioner of Police Seeks Stakeholders Support in Sokoto State

The new Commissioner of Police in Sokoto State Command, CP Ali Hayatu Kaigama, has sought collective efforts of all critical stakeholders including Vigilante groups across the state for a better and successful result of reclaiming and dominating the public space from criminals.
CP Kaigama made the plea at a press briefing in Police Officers’ Mess in Sokoto State.
He noted that his assumption marks the beginning of a new dawn in fighting crime and criminality in Sokoto State, but with the support and collective efforts of all stakeholders.
“We cannot do it alone, but must synergy and collaborate with the military, sister agencies and all critical stakeholders including our dear brothers from the vigilante groups across the State for a better and successful result of reclaiming and dominating the public space from criminals,” he said.
He assured members of the public that Sokoto metropolis, major towns across the State and public places will enjoy visibility policing, patrol and raiding of black spots in order to eradicate violent crimes, political violence, thuggery, communal clash and any other emerging threats.
Kaigama urged officers of the command to continue to be professional and dedicated as well as strive to perform their duties diligently and optimally with passion and sincerity of purpose until the people of this state sleep with their two eyes close.
He appreciated his predecessor, the immediate past Commissioner of Police, CP Muhammed Usaini Gumel, and the CP Kano State for laying a solid foundation on which he would continue to uphold and improve upon.
He also appreciated the wisdom and confidence of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, and his Management Team for finding him worthy and fit to lead the noble effort of maintaining law and order in Sokoto State.
The CP called on all and sundry of the state to get involved in the noble course directly or indirectly by way of contributing intelligence as security is everybody’s business.
