New Kwara Police commissioner solicits support from Emir of Illorin

The new Commissioner of Police in Kwara State, Lawal Bagege, on Tuesday visited the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman Kwara State Council of Chiefs, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari in his palace.

During the visit, the new police boss solicited support from the Emir and other traditional rulers in the state in terms of crime prevention.

According to him, the support of the traditional institution can not be overemphasised more importantly in curbing crime to the nearest minimum in the state.

CP Lawal Bagege also called on the people of the state to join hands with the idea of the top police herachy in community policing so as to futher reduce all acts of criminality. .

The police Commissioner used the opportunity to commiserate with the monarch on the death of the Commissioner of Police in Cross River State, late CP Lanre AbdulKadir Jimoh who was an indegene of Ilorin and expressed sadness on what he described as a great loss.

According to him , late CP Jimoh was his course mate and commiserated with the Emir over the irreparable loss and prayed God to be pleased with his soul and grant him Al-janatul firdaos.

The Emir thanked the Police Commissioner for his visit and urged him to sustain the peaceful co-existence the State is known for.

He assured the police boss that his palace is open for him anytime he needs his support or advice.
