The Governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Fintiri in his 2025 New Year message urged Nigerians to believe in the country’s potential and work collectively towards a prosperous future.
Reflecting on the challenges of 2024, Governor Fintiri expressed gratitude for the resilience and unity demonstrated by citizens, particularly in Adamawa State. He emphasised the importance of sustaining hope, dreams, and expectations as the country moves forward.
“I am happy that when things got hard, the people of Adamawa, in the spirit of being their brother’s keeper, were there for each other,” he said, highlighting the state’s poverty alleviation efforts and economic relief programs designed to mitigate hardships.
As the state embarks on a new year, the Governor assured residents of his administration’s commitment to fostering an inclusive economy, attracting investments, and strengthening security measures to ensure safer communities.
“In 2025, let’s continue to show up for one another, and together, let’s build a better future for everyone. We must define the kind of future we want and unite toward recreating the Nigeria of our collective dreams,” Fintiri urged.
Addressing national challenges, the Governor identified ethnic and religious intolerance as significant obstacles to progress.
He called on citizens to embrace unity and eschew divisive tendencies, noting that most of Nigeria’s problems are self-inflicted and require deliberate efforts to overcome.
“We must take an introspective look at ourselves to address the root of our problems. Whether it’s the economy or security, the challenges are traceable to ourselves,” he said.
Governor Fintiri also highlighted the achievements of his administration, including job creation and infrastructure projects, while announcing plans to expand irrigation and other development programmes in 2025.
Reiterating his commitment to inclusive growth, he assured residents of continued efforts to improve their lives through transformative legislation and policies.
On security, he reminded citizens of their shared responsibility and acknowledged the contributions of security personnel and stakeholders in maintaining peace.
“Our sacrifices will not be in vain. Let’s avoid divisive politics and embrace a progressive, people-oriented agenda for a greater Adamawa State,” the Governor concluded.
He called for a renewed partnership between the government and citizens to achieve the vision of a united, prosperous Nigeria.
