NGO empowers indigents with skills, financial Education

A non Governmental Organisation, NGO known as Regina Pacis Foundation has trained indigents on skill acquisition and  financial Education that can help them contribute meaningfully to the development of Nigeria.

 

The founder, Dr Edward Nkwegu disclosed this  to Journalists during the 17th Anniversary of the Foundation and 2021 annual thanksgiving at Regina Pacis villa in Izzi Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.

 

Dr Nkwegu said he embarked on the venture to give hope to hopeless and to  uplift the downtrodden.

 

“We were motivated by geniune compassion and empathy for the poor and less previleged among us. It is a horrifying experience not having anything to live on. It can undermine someone’s confidence and self -worth. Poverty in all its three estates, meaning spiritual, mental and material condition  can sabotage one’s life”. Nkwegu said.

 

He said this financial Education would make them to be self reliant in life.

 

He urged all other wealthy people in the society to invest in the less previleged.

 

The Chairman, Board of Trustee of Regina Pacis  Foundation, Reverend Father Johnpaul Nwankwo said the foundation had done great things in development of mankinds.

 

Nwankwo maintained that the foundation was a non profit Organisation which has been performing humanitarian works.

 

He said the occasion featured the award for the best Reverend Fathers of the year, which was given during the church service by His Lordship, the Catholic  Bishop of Abakaliki Diocese,  Most Reverend Peter Chukwu.
Amongst them were Reverend Father  Peter Amano and Right Reverend Father Abraham Nwali who were given award of humanitarian service, ” he added.

 

Also, the founder of Ekeson Foundation, Chief Ekene  Nwokoro congratulated Dr Edward Nkwegu for the good works he is doing for mankinds.
“I learnt from him, I have been empowering people in my own capacity, I have facilitated and given jobs  to over 1000 persons in Federal Government and other places,” he said.

 

Nwokoro said he has graded roads for his people and given Empowerments inform of skill acquisition and funds.

 

Some of the guests in the ceremony, Chief Mathias Adum and Ugo Chima said the event simbolises love for mankinds by the founder.
