NGO to partner with NPC on population management

A Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) in Nigeria, Sustainable Welfare Solutions Initiative (SWSI) says it will collaborate with the National Population Commission on strategies targeted at population management solutions.

The Chairman of SWSI, Mr Benedict Ukpong made this known during the maiden 2022 Annual Lecture Series of the NGO in Abuja Nigeria’s capital.

The thematic areas of focus of the organization include Population and Development; Health and Family Life; Water and Sanitation; as well as Education and Environment.”

He commended President Muhammadu Buhari for the Reversed National Population Policy for Sustainable Development.

The National Chairman of the National Population Commission, Mr Isa Kwarra who was represented by one of the Commissioners in the Commission, Mr Bala Banye assured the Chairman that the Commission is ready to partner with the SWSI to achieve the desired goals.

The Director of Population Management in the Nigerian National Population Commission who was the speaker at the Lecture Series, Ms Margaret Edison called for the use of more contraceptives to address population challenges in Nigeria.

Other speakers described the initiatives as timely and would continue to support the SWSI to address issues affecting the population in Nigeria especially in areas affecting women and youths.
