Trading activities closed in the positive on Monday with a 0.15% increase to close at 38,604.72 points higher than 38,547.08 points recorded at the close of trading on Friday last week.


The market capitalization also appreciated by N31 billion to close at N20,114 trillion on Monday as against N20,083 trillion on Friday.


Monday’s trading saw a total of 244,287,974 shares with market value of N1,908billion traded in 34,609 deals.


J BERGER led the gainers’ table, having gained N2.00k or 8.89% to close at N24.50k per share. It was followed by NPFMCRFBK with N0.14k or 8% gain to close at N1.89k, then REGALINS gained N0.03k or 7.14% to close at N0.45k.


On the other hand, ETERNA led the losers’ list after it lost N0.71k or 10%  to close at 6.39k, followed by NEIMETH which lost 0.17k or 8.71% to close at 1.58k and TRIPPLEG, which lost N0.09k or 9.09%  to close at N0.90k


Transcorp was the toast of investors for the day as it had the biggest volumes of 40,263 million shares worth N40,005 million followed by CILEASING with 26,097million shares  valued at N122,614 million.


Most of the indices performance was negative as four out of the five sub-sectors tracked closed in red.


The Insurance index lost by 0.25%;  the Industrial index slightly lost by 0.30% while the Consumer good index fell by 0.43%. The Oil and Gas index fell by 0.63% while the banking index gained by 0.02%.
