Niger State collaborates with Morocco to promote sustainable farming methods

Niger State Government in North central Nigeria , has indicated interest to collaborate with Morocco to improve its agricultural productivity, promote sustainable farming methods and enhance food security in the state.

The Governor of the State Umar Muhammad Bago stated this during a visit to Moroccan Embassy in Abuja Nigeria’s Capital City.

He noted that collaboration with Morocco in the sectors mentioned can help in improving agricultural productivity, promote sustainable farming methods and enhance food security in the state.

The visit by the Niger state Governor to the Moroccan Embassy according to his spokesperson Bologi Ibrahim ,was necessary, considering the fact that the Kingdom of Morocco has made significant advancements in agricultural technology and practices to the state government.

“The partnership will also help in the area of education and health thereby promoting educational exchanges and cultural programmes to foster understanding, knowledge sharing and human capital development as well as share experiences in healthcare delivery, medical training and disease prevention”. added Gov Bago

Other areas that the partnership according to Bologi are energy and railway transport with a view to fast-tracking the growth and development of the state.

The Moroccan Ambassador to Nigeria Moha Ou Ali Tagma who commended the visit by Niger state Governor, expressed delight and advocated the need for the Governor to pay an official visit to the Kingdom of Morocco for first hand information about the development of various spheres of its economy.
