Niger state government has commended the efforts of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation on the ongoing construction of a multi-Billion Naira Medical Diagnostic Center in the State.
The Niger State Governor, Abubakar Sani Bello, stated this while going round the project at the Ibrahim Babangida Specialist Hospital in Minna, Niger state.
The Governor who expressed determination towards the provision of quality health care services to the citizenry, described the initiative which is co funded by the NNPC and Total Nigeria Limited as desirable.
He further expressed satisfaction with the speed at which the work is going at the site. He said the contractors handling the project have promised to deliver it by May while equipment would be provided thereafter.
The Niger State Commissioner for Health and Hospital Services, Mohammed Makun Sidi, further said the Multi Billion Naira diagnostic center projects by The NNPC and Total Oil Nigeria Limited is designed to be constructed in each of the Six Geo Political zones of the country.
Dr Sidi explained that the facility is a multi-diagnosis centre where both emerging and conventional laboratory services including wards for admission would be made available.
“The services to be provided by the centre includes CT scan, mammogram for breast cancer, x-ray and ultrasound”, added Dr Makun Sidi
The Niger State Commissioner for Health and Hospital services, however stated that the passion, commitment, and investment in the health sector by Governor Sani Bello’s of Niger State, are what made the state benefit from the project by The NNPC and Total Nigeria Limited.
