Niger state Emergency Agency distributes relief materials to flood victims

The Niger State Emergency Management Agency, in North Central Nigeria, has flagged off the distribution of relief materials to all the affected areas affected by flood across the State.
The Director General, Niger State Emergency Management Agency, Ahmed Ibrahim Inga who stated during the flagging off in Kuchiworo Community, in Lavun Local Government Area,one of the most affected areas in the State.
While commiserating with victims over the losses suffered due to the ravaging flood, he re-assured them that the Agency with the support from the National body, NEMA, as well as the State Government will not rest on its oars in providing palliative measures to ease hardship faced by victims of flood
Inga said “21 out of the 25 Local Government Areas of the State were affected by flood disasters with 382 communities identified to have been affected ,50 thousand people directly affected with 40 deaths recorded so far”.
The relief items presented to the affected people in Lavun Local government includes food items ranging from bags of rice, maize, beans, groundnut and red oil while nonfood items such as mattresses, buckets, clothings, cups and baby diapers were distributed.
Inga equally informed the Community members of the State Government’s Agriculture plans of supporting affected farming communities on dry season farming in line with the state government’s mandate of providing succor to victims of flood and other disaster related issues.
