Niger State Governor Champions Green Economy with Executive Order

Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago of Niger State North Central Nigeria, has signed Executive Order No. 3, 2023, marking a significant step towards the Green Economy initiative.

 

The order’s primary objective is to align the Green Economy Initiative with the State’s Blueprint, emphasising strategic pillars, key performance indicators, and timelines for a seamless transition.

 

The Executive Order also mandates the creation of a comprehensive State-Wide Land Use and Economic Development Plan, serving as a guiding framework for investments.

 

This approach ensures a well-coordinated and thoughtfully planned strategy to stabilise the green transition.

 

Governor Bago said, “under the directive of the Executive Order, all State Ministries, Departments, and Agencies are obligated to strictly adhere to the Green Economy Initiative. Violators will face sanctions as outlined in the order.”
Emphasising the crucial role of the Executive Order, Governor Umaru Bago highlighted its indispensable nature in effectively implementing the Green Economy Policy.

 

Governor Bago took a moment to express gratitude to the Media for their extensive coverage of his administration, urging them to sustain their efforts.

 

The Green Economy Policy, initiated by the present administration, represents a comprehensive effort to revitalise the State’s economy and foster socio-economic development, as highlighted during the inaugural summit on the initiative.
The formal signing of Executive Order No. 3 underscores the enduring commitment to the Green Economy Initiative, emphasising the imperative nature of its implementation for sustainable development in Niger State.
