Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has delivered a poignant message on Nigeria’s 63rd anniversary, urging Nigerians to prioritise the bonds that unify the nation over the factors that divide it. In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, Governor Bago emphasised the importance of national unity in the face of challenges.
While acknowledging that Nigeria has yet to reach its desired level of development, Governor Bago stressed that the country remains dynamic in its pursuit of progress. He called on all Nigerians to engage in deep and thoughtful reflections on the nation’s journey over the past decades, expressing confidence that such contemplation would lead to gratitude.
Governor Bago further encouraged Nigerians to maintain their resolute and collective efforts in nation-building. He highlighted the “renewed hope” provided by President Tinubu’s commitment and resilience in steering the nation toward an upward trajectory.
Assuring the people of Niger State of unprecedented transformation under his leadership, Governor Bago pledged to expand the state’s economy through strategic foreign partnerships. He also committed to ensuring lasting peace within the state.
In his congratulatory message to fellow Nigerians on the 63rd anniversary of the nation’s independence, Governor Bago offered a prayer for the continued unity of Nigeria.
“We hope that peace; justice, equity, and fairness would continue to be the guiding principles, honoring the labor of past and present leaders in the country.”
