Niger State partners With India to boost Agric Sector

The Niger State Government in North Central Nigeria is to partner with the Indian government in the areas of agricultural mechanization and other developmental activities.

The Governor of the State Alhaji Umar Mohammed Bago stated this during a visit to the Indian High Commissioner, Gangadharan Balasubramanian to seek partnership with the Indian Government in a mutually beneficial relationship in Abuja Nigeria’s Capital

The Governor in a statement by his spokesperson Bologi Ibrahim, also discussed on facilitating loans from the Indian government for the purchase of modern agricultural machines to boost the state’s agric sector.

The Niger State Governor who also seeks the Indian government participation in the areas of teaching and training, mentioned his intention of building one of the best teaching hospitals in Nigeria to cater for the health needs of the citizens in the state and beyond.

Responding, the Indian High Commissioner, Gangadharan Balasubramanian expressed the readiness of the Indian government to mutually collaborate with the Niger State Government.

The Indian High Commissioner further urged the Niger State government utilize the advantage of the existing relationship between Nigeria and Indian governments, to obtain loans for inward projects from the Indian government to be repaid in ten years.
