Niger State refunds Hajj deposits to 437 intending Pilgrims

Niger State government  has approved the refund of Hajj deposits to 437 intending pilgrims from the state wishing for refund.

The Executive Secretary of the State Pilgrims Welfare Board Alhaji Umar Lapai, stated this  during the presentation of cheques to those that earlier  applied for the refund, at the pilgrims office in Minna the state capital on Tuesday.

A statement by the board states that about 437 intending pilgrims had so far applied for refund of their 2020/2021 hajj deposits, that the money will be paid back in full without  deducting any surcharge.

“The refund is  symbolic, all Local Government Areas will be invited to come for their refund soon,” Lapai said.

He appreciated the governor for approving the refund 100% and assured those that roll over their deposits that they wouldl be the first set of people to be considered in 2022.

While appreciating intending pilgrims from the state for their patience, the  Executive Secretary of the Niger State pilgrims welfare Board, Alhaji Umar Lapai, however pointed out that there would be no new registration of pilgrims in 2022 until the rollover pilgrims were cleared.
