Niger Tornadoes Chairman, Ibrahim Dada, has urged the players to elevate their performance in a bid to solidify its position in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
The encouragement came during Dada’s visit to the team in their Hotel in Kaduna, following its recent 1-0 victory against struggling Akwa United on match day 10 at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium. The decisive 65th-minute goal by Bashir Usman secured a crucial win for the Ikon Allah Boys.
The Chairman emphasised that Doma are not invincible, highlighting their ability to draw with other teams. He expressed optimism that the Tornadoes can replicate such results in Gombe.
“I am calling for more unity and understanding among the players and the technical crew,” Dada said.
Dada praised the team for its commendable performances and urged them to maintain the momentum as they head to Gombe for a challenging against Doma United on match day 11. Doma United currently holds the second position on the NPFL table and they are in excellent form.
The chairman stressed the significance of achieving a positive result against Doma, expressing confidence that the Tornadoes can either secure a draw or emerge victorious in Gombe.
In recognition of their triumphant performance against Akwa United, Dada personally contributed a cash reward of N200,000 to the players, with the promise of additional incentives if they manage to secure a victory against Doma.
Dada also appealed for the continued support of other stakeholders in the State to bolster the team’s success in the NPFL.
