The All Progressives Congress, APC in Nasarawa State has called on the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP to accept the Appeal Court Judgment which declared Governor Abdullahi Sule winner of the March 18 2023 Governorship Election in Nasarawa State in good fate.
The State APC Chairman, Aliyu Bello made the call during a press briefing in Lafia the state capital.
He stated that the call became imperative in the interest of unity, peace and progress of the state.
Aliyu Bello said that politics was all about the people and the society hence the need for the PDP to join hands with Governor Sule’s Administration in providing governance for the common good of the citizens.
The APC chairman stressed the need to shun unguarded utterances that are counter productive to the state under the guise of rejecting the Appeal Court Judgment.
The Governorship Election Petition Tribunal had on the second of October 2023 in a split judgment of two to one, nullified the election of Abdullahi Sule of the APC and declared David Ombagadu of the PDP winner of the March 18 2023 Governorship Election.
However, the Appeal Court in a unanimous judgement led by Justice Uchechukwu Onuemenam reversed the verdict of the Tribunal and upheld the election of Governor Abdullahi Sule.
