Nigeria, AU Discuss Strengthening Africa’s Peace, Security Framework

Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, has held a strategic engagement with the African Union Commissioner for Political Affairs, Peace and Security, Ambassador Bankole Adeoye, aimed at strengthening Africa’s peace and security architecture.

The discussions at the meeting, on the side lines of the 48th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council of the African Union, focused on advancing preventive diplomacy, promoting governance and political stability, and enhancing coordinated continental responses to emerging peace and security challenges across the continent.

Both officials underscored the importance of collective action and sustained collaboration in addressing evolving threats and consolidating peace in Africa.
