Nigeria Calls for Global Cooperation to Combat Terrorism

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has called on Nigeria’s international allies and partners to stand firmly with the country as it intensifies its campaign to eradicate terrorism and criminal networks threatening its national stability.

The President made the call in a post on his verified X handle, @officialABAT, on Friday, affirming that Nigeria will spare no effort in eradicating terrorism and reclaiming the safety and dignity of its people.

President Tinubu emphasised that the fight against terrorism remains central to Nigeria’s national security agenda, assuring that his government will continue to sustain military operations, strengthen intelligence coordination, and deepen international cooperation to consolidate recent gains.

He said; “We face challenges head-on and remain steadfast in our commitment to engage partners and champion Nigeria’s interests in the diplomatic fronts. We are confidently asserting our presence on the global stage, guided by unwavering calm, clarity, and a strong sense of purpose.”

Lasting peace

The Nigerian Leader reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to ending terrorism and securing lasting peace across Nigeria, declaring that the nation will not retreat in the face of persistent security challenges.

President Tinubu said; “We are indeed faced with terrorism – a challenge Nigeria has faced for almost two decades, and we will not back down. We will decisively defeat terrorism and claim victory in this battle. Security is non-negotiable, and we will never compromise on this principle. With unwavering courage and a steadfast commitment to the rule of law, we will prevail.”

The President stated that his government’s diplomacy is driven by confidence, clarity, and purpose, with Nigeria asserting its position as a responsible player on the global stage while confronting internal and transnational security threats.

Reiterating his commitment to the rule of law and democratic values, the President said, “With courage and the rule of law, we will triumph.”

Never compromise

He said that security is a non-negotiable part of governance and that Nigeria will never compromise in defending its sovereignty and unity.

The Nigerian leader further said that”The task ahead is immense, yet our resolve is even greater. We will continue to sustain and build on our reform gains and deliver a prosperous and inclusive Nigeria. 

“We will spare no effort and leave no stone unturned in our mission to eliminate criminals from our society. We urge our allies to stand firmly with us as we amplify our fight against terrorism. We have made significant progress in the past two years and we will decisively eliminate this threat.

“With courage and the rule of law, we will triumph.”

Reliable partner

President Tinubu restated that Nigeria would continue to stand as a reliable partner and dependable ally within the international community, emphasising the nation’s commitment to fostering global peace and shared prosperity.

“Nigeria is one united family. We rise together, move forward together, and reject despair in favour of determination. Our future is far more robust and stronger than any fears we may have.

“Nigeria will be, and remain a reliable partner and dependable ally to its friends and a steady voice for stability. We also welcome the collaboration and support of our allies, friends, and partners as we strengthen both security and economic growth.

To the brave men and women of our armed forces and intelligence community united by purpose, regardless of tribe or religion, who serve fearlessly, fight side-by-side and sometimes pay the ultimate price, we express our deepest gratitude. Your commitment is our strength in the fight against terror,” President Tinubu stated.

The President further gave assurance that Nigeria will continue to assert its presence on the global stage with calm confidence and a clear sense of purpose, while building on reforms aimed at delivering a prosperous and inclusive society.
