Nigerians have been urged to consider the country as a united entity built on the strength of its diversity that cannot be broken.
The Senior Special Assistant to Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity Malam Garba Shehu made the call at the 2021 Kwararafa Reporters annual lecture and award ceremony in Abuja, Nigeria.
The annual lecture is tagged National Unity; the future of Nigeria was put together by Kwararafa Reporters an online media outfit to brainstorm on the challenges of Nigeria and the way forward.
Garba Shehu who said, “Nigeria will not break and will surmount its challenges,” urged Nigerians to be patriotic and have the spirit of being a brother keeper.
Former minister of aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode noted that “war is not the best for Nigeria … peace is the way forward”.
He identified tolerance and understanding as pivotal instruments to nation-building.
Fani Kayode explained that Nigeria is in dire need of a man who has the trust of all Nigerians and a bridge builder as president in 2023.
Also Speaking, Governor Yahya Bello of Kogi State represented by Professor Folashade Arike said, “my concept for one Nigeria is a nation that guarantees citizens security and peace”.
He noted that Nigeria must unite and strive to move on to attain the giant of Africa.
The Senate Deputy Minority leader, Senator Emmanuel Bwacha representing Taraba South said, “Nigeria is a nation whose people need each other for development.”
Bwacha who condemned the violent approaches to some agitations in the country described dialogue as the only means of resolving conflicts or misunderstanding.
Publisher of the Kwararafa Reporters, Mr. Emmanuel Bello believes that brainstorming on national issues will help in addressing some challenges affecting Nigeria.
Governor Yahya Bello of Kogi State, the Minister of Power, Engr. Saleh Mamman and Senator Emmanuel Bwacha were among the recipients of Awards by the Kwararafa Reporters.
