Team Nigeria emerged overall champions at the 14th edition of the African Armwrestling Championship, held at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.
Athletes from more than 20 African nations competed across multiple male and female weight categories, with hosts Nigeria emerging as standout performer.
Team Nigeria dominated the contest, clinching 28 gold, 35 silver, 38 bronze to top the continental medals table. A total of 101 medals for the Nigerians across both left-hand and right-hand events.
The Championship was organized by the National Sports Commission in collaboration with the African Armwrestling Federation.
The 2025 edition set a new benchmark for hosting standards and crowd energy.
