The Nigerian government has dismissed the declaration of a customary Biafran Republic by Ex Niger Delta militant, Asari Dokubo, describing it as a theatre of the absurd.

In an interview with select journalists on Monday in Lagos, South West Nigeria, Information and Culture Minister Alhaji Lai Mohammed said Nigerians should not take the ex militant seriously because the aggregate of his action was clearly a joke in the arena.

“I am sure you have heard of the theatre of the absurd. That is the best way I can describe it. If Asari Dokubo wants to form and run a phantom government, I think he is free to do so.”

The Minister submitted that the present administration will not be distracted because by such jokes because the government still has a lot to do for Nigerians and wants to remain focus.

We are not ready to give any attention or time to a joker like Dokubo who is just seeking for attention. We will just take it as one of these entertainment things.

The beauty about Nigeria is that it is never a dull country, you must have one thing or the other to entertain you,’’ he said.
