The Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, is currently hosting the second edition of Nigerian Women’s Day in New York.
The convergence, a Nigerian CSW70 side event is part of efforts to celebrate the achievements and global impact of Nigerian women.
The event which brings together political leaders, policymakers, advocates and members of the Nigeria in diaspora will highlight the efforts of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and the contributions of Nigerian women across different sectors.
The event will also highlight the role of Nigerian women in driving innovation, strengthening families and contributing to economic growth.

This year’s gathering commemorates 31 years of progress, resilience, impact and renewed hope.
The event will also serve as a platform to strengthen partnerships and advance discussions around women’s empowerment, the Care economy, family stability and inclusive national development.
Participants are expected to examine strategies for promoting gender equality and expanding opportunities for women in leadership, governance, business and other critical sectors.
Minister Sulaiman-Ibrahim also noted that the Nigerian Women’s Day has become an important platform for recognising the achievements of women and amplifying their voices on the global stage.
She explained that the gathering would showcase the impact of Nigerian women in national development and across the international community.
The Nigerian Women’s Day celebration in New York is expected to further reinforce Nigeria’s efforts to support women’s advancement while celebrating their resilience, achievements and contributions to society.
