The Nigerian government has identified the need to sustain health communication and promotion as a strategy in the control, prevention and spread of diseases in the country.
The Country’s Minister of state for health Dr. Adeleke Mamora, made this known at a health Advocacy book launch and a roundtable discussion on infection control and wellness of Nigeria, held in Abuja.
The Minister while launching the book, identified health promotion as a pillar and when sustained will reawaken the citizens on self consciousness to care and safety.
He said “health promotion will educate our people at all levels on health issues. There is need to remind ourselves in assessing our wellbeing.
“The roundtable discussion is also timely at this critical moment of COVID-19”.
He urged Nigerians to take advantage of the book to promote good health.
The book reviewer Professor Oyewale Tomori described the book as “unique to healthcare, easily readable and addresses various issues of health”.
He said, the book will educate, encourage and empower Nigerians to common ailments of nature and laws of good health.
The book, 30 laws for good health is written by Dr. Bola Olaosebikan founder and publisher of Health Magazine.
Making Health care a priority
Speaking on the book, 30 laws for good health, Dr. Bola Olaosebikan said that over one million copies of his published books have been distributed to Nigerians since he started health advocacy 35 years ago.
He commended the Nigerian government for making health care a priority and promised to collaborate with state governments to have a health care forum to educate people at the grassrootsl.
The occasion featured awards presentation to President Muhammadu Buhari, individuals and groups for their outstanding roles in healthcare provision.
