Police Trust Fund partners with Ebonyi state to improve operations

The Police Trust Fund has partnered with the Ebonyi State Government to ensure efficient and effective operations of the Nigeria Police in the State.

The Director-General, Budget Office of the Federation, Ben Akabueze disclosed this when the members of the Board of Police Trust Fund paid a courtesy visit to the Governor of Ebonyi State, David Umahi at the government house in Abakaliki, the State capital.

The DG who is also a Member of the Police Trust Fund said the purpose of the visit is to appraise the mandate and activities of the Nigeria Police Trust Fund NPTF and to seek a closer working relationship between Ebonyi State Government and the Nigeria Police Trust Fund NPTF.

“The relationship is on mainly on the provision of basic needs of Nigeria Police force to ensure efficient and effective policing in the State and Nigeria at large

“The Trust Fund is envisioned to contribute significantly towards the building of well equipped and motivated Nigeria Police force that would be promptly responsive to the security challenges in line with global standards and best practices

“We have been duly informed of the numerous assistance the state government has been rendering to the Police Command in the State and the warm relationship between the state government and the Nigeria Police.”

Consequently, he solicited more support from the State Government to address more security challenges facing the country.

He however thanked Governor Umahi for all the support so far.

On his part, the Governor of Ebonyi State, David Umahi said security is everybody’s business.

Umahi encouraged all Stakeholders across Nigeria to put their hands together to fight the security challenges in the country.

He appreciated Akabueze for his financial management, noting that the NPTF would be properly managed with him.
