Nigeria, Portugal Sign Bilateral MoU On Sports Development

The Ministries of Youth and Sports Development of Nigeria and Portugal on Friday signed a bilateral Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), on Sports and Youth Development in Lisbon, Portugal.

President Muhammadu Buhari and Sports Minister Sunday Dare, departed Nigeria for Portugal to sign the bilateral MoU on sports development and also for cooperation in different sectors.

The MoU was signed with President Muhammadu and Portugal’s President, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa appending their support.

Sports Minister Sunday Dare and his counterpart, the Minister of Youth and Sports of Portugal, Madame Ana Catarina shake hands after the signing of the MOU in the presence of President Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria, and President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa of Portugal.

The collaboration would seek to create mutualism in sports, which will see the exchange of technical-know-how, sporting equipment support for athletes and football development.

Cooperation in the field of culture; cooperation in the field of women and girls development, empowerment and gender affairs are also parts of the collaboration.

This is the seventh (7th) Bilateral Agreement facilitated by Nigeria’s Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare, since assuming office in 2019.
