Nigeria Rewards D’Tigress With $100,000, National Honours

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has honoured Nigeria’s national women’s basketball team, D’Tigress, with $100,000 each, national honours, and houses in Abuja following their recent international triumph.

Coaches and technical crew members were also awarded $50,000 each.

The President, represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima, announced the rewards on Monday at a special reception held in their honour at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

All players, coaches, and technical staff were also conferred with the national honour of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON).

“This administration celebrates excellence and will continue to recognise those who raise Nigeria’s flag high on the global stage,” Vice President Shettima said.

In addition to the monetary gifts and national honours, each team member and official received a flat in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
