The Nigerian government says it is willing to support the Lagos State Government to ensure improved, affordable and accessible healthcare service delivery to its residents.

The Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, Dr. Tunji Alausa made this known when he paid a courtesy visit to the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, at the Lagos House to intimate him of his visit to health institutions in the State and also see how the Federal Government can further assist sub- national government like Lagos State in improving its healthcare delivery system.
“What we have is not working the way it should, our indicators are quiet appalling, but we have a mandate given to us by President Bola Tinubu to reshape, revitalize and get Nigerian healthcare system to where it should be, were citizens can have comprehensive healthcare”, he said.
Dr. Alausa said Lagos State has done well and that’s one of the reasons “why I am here to see how we can assist you to do better, because if we are able to get it right in Lagos, we can begin to replicate this across other States in the Country. I urged the Lagos Government to further assist its resident’s key into the State Health Insurance Policies”.
The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu who congratulated the Minister on his well-deserved appointment said with the pedigree and background of the Minister, he is confident and believes that working with his colleague, Prof. Ali Pate, they would do well, to raise the health care in Lagos and Nigeria.
Governor Sanwo-Olu assured the Minister of the willingness and readiness of Lagos State to collaborate and foster in areas of expertise to help compliment what is being done in Lagos so that at the end of the day, the people can feel the essence and benefits of all the interventions by Nigeria government.
