Nigeria to Prioritise Universal Health Coverage

The wife of the President, Oluremi Tinubu says the Nigerian Government is prioritising Universal Health Coverage (UHC) which will frontally address the nation’s healthcare challenges.

She stated this during a courtesy visit by the Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof Mohammed Ali-Pate and a team from the Susan Buffet Foundation.

Mrs Tinubu said transforming the county’s healthcare system to make it accessible and beneficial to every Nigerian is part of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

“Nigeria is Africa, with a lot of Human Resources, and my husband has a good eye for working with talented people and I am excited for the new team in his cabinet as we are hoping to turn this country around,” she said.

The First Lady said Nigeria is open to collaborating with well meaning organisations.

The Minister of Health and Social Welfare Prof Mohammad Ali-Pate expressed gratitude to the First Lady for personally attending the Flag Off Ceremony of the Human Papiloma Virus Vaccine.

Prof Ali-Pate said her presence at the ceremony showed the commitment of the Nigerian government to safeguarding the lives of girls and women in the country.

“The health and well being of our people is central to what this administration is doing, the advancement of health of girls and women is the future of this country,” he said.

The Susan Buffett Foundation, inspired by the Renewed Hope Agenda, will collaborate with the Nigerian Government towards ensuring that the current administration’s agenda is accomplished.
